Djebel Sirwa 3305m Trekking in (Anti-Atlas Mountain)


Jbel Siroua (3305m) is the Highest summit in Anti-atlas in south of Morocco. Located between the High-Atlas mountain and the Sahara, Jbel Siroua is attractive, thanks to its spectacular landscapes and it's fantastic geologic formations. Many Berber villages scattered along green cultivated valleys of saffron where locals are friendly by nature.




Programm :

-Day 1: Arrival day to Marrakech

-Day 2 : In the morning we leave Marrakech and we drive to the south of Morocco via Tizi n-Tichka pass. At Amerzgane village on the road of Ourazazete we turn right to Anzel than to Tamellakout where we spent the night in the gite.

-Day 3 :  We start our trek from Tamallakout, and we walk up to discover beautiful villages and crops of saffron in Sirwa region. An easy walk in a vast plateau to Tamazirt village, then to Tizwad where we make a stop for lunch. In the Afternoon we continue  through fields of wheat and barley to Ait Tigga, campsite near a spring. 5 hours walking.

- Day 4: Today we discover this beautiful village with few shops and  it's granary where the locals save their grain and jewellery. The  inhabitants are curious and friendly by nature. To the other side we walk up along a river, in a green and beautiful valley, we explore other villages and narrow terraces for iris and saffron. To be so closed  from the locals , a cup of tea  is offered in a Berber house in Idoughagh. Lunch near a spring before Tizi Aghigha ( 2760m). From the pass, we walk down to our camp in Tasirwat. (6hours walking).

 - Day 5: The ascent of Sirwa is optional and easy. Early morning we leave our camp and we face a rise of about three hours depending on the pace of the group to the top of Sirwa (3305m). A beautiful view on the Toubkal Massif and the High Atlas is available. We continue our journey with a descent on the other side to see beautiful formations of ancient volcanic massif. After our picnic in a midway, we continue to our camp at Azib Iriri. (6 hours walking).

 - Day 6: Today a very good stage of 5 hours walk to Tachakoucht valley  place of our bivouac. During this phase we will discover the beautiful village of Amassine with its two beautiful minarets and its collective granary. We continue to  Tiguert which is an  isolated village in a beautiful valley of almond trees. The landscapes are beautiful, after a small dam built by locals to save water for their fields, we head down to Tachakoucht. ( 5hours walking).

 - Day 7: Return back to Marrakech.

- Transport:  Minibus from Marrakech to Tamellakout and from Tamellakout to Marrakech the last day.

- Mules to carry food and luggage during the trekking.
