Trekking In the desert of Morocco (8 days)

It's a trip that starts from Marrakech with three days walking in the dunes of ergs in Merzouga region (Erg Echebbi and Erg Znaigui). The ideal time is from the months October until May. For those seeking the pleasure of walking in the sand and watching the stars, this wonderful site will make them appreciate the immensity of the sky. The height of the great red dunes can reach 200m, sunset is impressive.Camel ride in the Sahara remains one of the highlights of our trip in the south of Morocco.


Programme:  

 - Day 1: Arrival to Marrakech
 - Day 2: We drive to Ouarzazate and Skoura on the road of one thousands Kasbahs, then to Tinghir where we visit Todgha gorges. We continue to Erg Echebbi not far from Merzouga. There we meet our camel drivers and we walk for about one hour to our camp, night in tents.


 - Day - 3 and 4: Far from the noise of the road we spend two days in the desert walking and moving from Erg to Reg; Sunrise should not be missed from the top of a big dune of Erg Echebbi. We begin the first day of walking on the sand whose colour changes with the time of the day.  We continue our trek south, the landscape changes, we cross a wide Reg with black pebbles, and the fortified village N'fis before arriving at camp in Erg Znaigui the sand becomes golden. Afternoon short walk through the dunes. Night in the tents.

 - Day 5: After breakfast we will drive back to Merzouga village then to Rissani (place of shrine of Moulay Ali Cherif founder of the Alaouite dynasty) then  Alnif  where we stop for lunch in a good restaurant.  (Night under nomad tent in a camp in Tazarine).

 - Day - 6: From Tazarine we drive to Ouarzazate (capital of cinema in Morocco, visit of Kasbah Aït Benhaddou, This fortified village was recognised by UNESCO since 1987 as world heritage. After that we drive through the Tizi N' Tichka pass to Marrakech. Night in the hotel (BB).

 - Day 7: Marrakech sightseeing (included visit of the medina with a local guide).
